Staff development and Retention

ABA recognizes its strength as a professional organization rests on the skills and qualifications of the personnel it hires and retains. We take great care in the recruitment, hiring, and training of every professional and para-professional staff member at each of our program sites.

Upon hire, all personnel undergo a robust training program which includes specialized instructional and behavioral management methods for students identified as having an emotional disability or behavioral disorder. Specific topics on which staff are trained may include:

  • Fred Jones
  • Love & Logic
  • Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)
  • Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI)
  • Development and Implementation of Student IEPs
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Conducting FBAs and BIPs
  • Accessing and Utilizing Therapeutic Supports in the School Environment
  • Effective Curriculum Planning & Instructional Methods

ABA staff undergo ongoing training and professional development related to best practices, effective methodologies and techniques. A comprehensive overview of ABA's training program is updated annually, and available upon request.
