ABA uses highly structured and evidenced-based approaches towards providing positive behavioral supports and interventions. We train professional and para-professional staff work with students to engage in a cognitive restructuring process to support social/emotional skill development.
Our practitioners use a hybrid approach based on the foundations and principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Positive Behavioral Supports, Fred Jones, and Love & Logic to help each student find success. These methods have been shown to increase instructional learning time by effectively reducing classroom disruptions and punitive power struggles.
We have found that students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs thrive in environments with clear expectations, systems, and procedures.
We focus on supporting the whole child through a combination of academic, social, behavioral, and therapeutic supports. This integrated approach assures that as students prepare to return to their LRE (Least Restrictive Environment), they have as many of the skills as possible to find success. To facilitate this, ABA offers small class sizes, with a standard staff to student ratio of approximately 1:4. Smaller instructional settings, coupled with evidence-based and individualized instructional methods, helps students achieve academic success and further academic skill development.
With the goal that all students should have the opportunity to transition or re-integrate into a school or district's least restrictive environment, ABA Schools works to align individual academic programming with each district's Standards for Curriculum & Instruction. This process promotes a more seamless transition into the least restrictive environment, while providing students with targeted supports within the ABA model. |
